This rising ambient air draws in more cooler and denser air from under the luminaire and draws away the heat created by the LEDs thus using natural convection. V-MAX utilises all three heat transfer principles of conduction, convection and radiation to ensure that the high powered LEDs mounted to the aluminium backed PCB and electronic drivers are thermally managed well within their limit to maximise system life.
